Saletelligence supports the Bethel children’s and youth hospice with a donation
It is with great pleasure and conviction that SALETELLIGENCE has supported the Bethel children’s and young people’s hospice with a donation of 3,000 euros. This special hospice in Bielefeld is much more than a place for the last phase of life: It is a lovingly designed ‘oasis’ for children and young people with life-shortening illnesses and their families. Here, those affected can not only recharge their batteries, but also find valuable support on an often difficult path.
We were particularly impressed by the hospice’s commitment to bereavement work. This unique service not only supports families in the last phase of a child’s life, but often also long after the child’s death. The bereavement counselling helps relatives to deal with the loss and to find their way back into life – an important support at a time when many cannot be adequately supported by friends and relatives.
As the health insurance companies do not fund this essential work, the Bethel Children’s and Youth Hospice relies on donations in order to provide services such as bereavement counselling, sibling care or creative and musical activities. We at SALETELLIGENCE are proud to make a contribution that enables this valuable support for affected families.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the dedicated employees staff of the children’s and youth hospice for their tireless work and hope that our donation will help to relieve and support the families.
Together, we can help to bring light and warmth to challenging phases of life.
10 years of SALETELLIGENCE Switzerland – A decade of data-driven solutions for the healthcare sector
SALETELLIGENCE Schweiz GmbH was founded in Bern ten years ago. What started out as an ambitious project has now developed into a permanent fixture in the field of SFE support. Our team is proud of what we have achieved in this decade: numerous customised solutions that enable our customers to grow sustainably and compete successfully in a dynamic market environment.
Since its foundation, SALETELLIGENCE Switzerland has stood for customised approaches that help both large international corporations and smaller providers in the healthcare sector to optimise their sales processes. We are particularly proud of the trusting partnerships that we have been able to build up during this time. It is this close cooperation with our customers that enables us to respond precisely to their needs and develop customised solutions.
Our expertise is based on deep market knowledge and the ability to use innovative technologies to support data-based decisions. From identifying the right target groups in launch phases to optimising existing processes and structures for established products: SALETELLIGENCE has established itself as a reliable partner that delivers real added value.
The healthcare sector is developing rapidly – and we at SALETELLIGENCE know that standing still is not an option. In the coming years, we will continue to expand our expertise in order to meet the growing demands of our customers. SALETELLIGENCE & the AOK Company Run 2024: Over 80% of our employees at the start – and all of them at the finish!
Once again this year, we at SALETELLIGENCE have shown what we are made of! For the third time in a row, we took part in the AOK company run with a strong team – and with overwhelming success. More than 80% of our employees were motivated at the starting line and achieved great things together: Everyone reached the finish line, sending a clear signal of team spirit, cohesion and perseverance.
For years, the AOK company run has stood for more than just sporting ambition. It is an opportunity to show your face as a company, to demonstrate your own fitness and, above all, to strengthen team cohesion.
A particular highlight was the atmosphere at the edge of the course. Supported by numerous spectators, all runners gave their best. Whether experienced runners, occasional joggers or walkers: we know that we are strong together – not only in the office, but also on the running track!
A big thank you goes to all those who ran with us or were there as supporters. We are already looking forward to the AOK company run 2025 and are certain that we will go one better next year!

New study on the digital affinity of office-based GPIs
Our current data shows that around 15% of office-based GPIs in Germany have a high or very high digital affinity. Interestingly, there are more doctors in the “very high” or “high” groups in the 3 largest federal states (NRW, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg) in relation to the total proportion of doctors, while there are comparatively fewer doctors in these groups in the new federal states in eastern Germany.

Our analyses also show that doctors with a very high digital affinity are more likely to offer longer opening hours, have a higher volume of prescriptions for COPD/asthma and are more likely to work in group practices in metropolitan areas. Compared to the practices with low affinity, these practices are increasingly located in areas with better transport links, higher doctor density and in an environment with a lower population >65 years of age and a higher monthly net income.
These analyses make it clear that, as in many other areas, digitalisation and digital affinity are not at the same level everywhere, even among APIs. This also has a corresponding impact on practice organisation and patient care.
Let’s drive the digital transformation in the healthcare sector forward together!

Facts & figures on the hospital landscape in Austria
We have recently updated our hospital database for our Hospital Navigator and have seen some interesting changes and developments:
1. the total of all reported case numbers continued to rise in 2022, as in the 2021 data year: +3%.
2. the areas of ENT, respiratory system and skeleton and musculoskeletal system in particular show the highest absolute growth
3. the number of outpatient clinics has declined slightly (-2%) and opening hours have also decreased in the total hours per week reported (-6%)
4. the number of beds in acute care also declined by -3%: the number of beds in internal medicine (~ -600 beds) and orthopaedics & surgery (together ~ -300 beds) fell particularly sharply.
A more detailed presentation of the main findings can be found here:

NEW FIGURES FROM ONCOLOGY
The current cancer figures in Austria show very different trends depending on the type of cancer:
While prostate cancer, for example, has risen by +23% in the last 5 years to 7 thousand and breast cancer by +14% to ~6.2 thousand new cases in 2022, other types of cancer have remained stable or even fallen (e.g. colon, urinary bladder, etc.). Across all cancer types, there will be 10% (~4.5 thousand) more new cases in 2022 compared to 2017.
The OnkoNavigator, a tool from SALETELLIGENCE, offers a simple and comprehensive overview of the cancer landscape in Austria and allows evaluations according to various criteria such as tumour type, federal state, tumour stage, histologies and age distributions as well as backdata from over 10 years.
Please contact Mr Martin Walter if you would like to find out more about our data and solutions in oncology.

Students at SALETELLIGENCE – What does a data analyst actually do in practice and what do pinball machines have to do with it?
To explain this, we invited students from the University of Bielefeld to our Technology Centre in Bielefeld. There, we were able to demonstrate how to convert various unrelated data sources into concrete solutions for the healthcare industry, such as a target customer list or regional sales territories. In addition, it was shown how one can already get a taste of practical experience with us during one’s studies.
Since concentrated work with data also requires recovery phases, the pinball machines and our popular table football came into play. Some of the participants came close to breaking the existing high scores and many questions were discussed in the interesting conversations.
We are already looking forward to the next activities with the BU2BU programme.

The student consultancy STUNT e.V. Bielefeld offers members the opportunity to learn about experiences and methods from business practice within the framework of training weekends. In this context, various companies provide insights into their approaches and methods.
This year, we also had the opportunity to present a lecture on the topic “How to apply statistical methods? Data-based management consulting based on a practical example”. In the course of the presentation, a lively exchange on the use of data in the context of management consultancy arose. In addition to the special features of the pharmaceutical market and the data available there, there was also intensive discussion about the use of statistical methods for concrete practical questions of sales and marketing teams in the healthcare sector.
A successful event, which we will gladly offer again in the future.

This year, we are once again foregoing gifts for our customers and instead supporting the work of the Bielefeld Medical Advice Centre with a donation of 3,000 euros.
The Medical Advice Centre is a specialised facility for girls and boys of pre-school and primary school age who have been affected by violence. Specially trained and experienced child and youth psychotherapists work here. In order to make the diagnosis particularly gentle for the children, they only use play therapy to clarify suspicions. The work is based on the unwavering self-image of being on the side of the child in every situation. The protection of the affected girls and boys from further experiences of violence is the top priority.

A visit to the medical advice centre in Bielefeld
The Medical Advice Centre is a registered association under the umbrella organisation of the DPWV. It was founded in 1985 by paediatricians from Bielefeld and members of the Child Protection Association. At present, the Medical Advice Centre employs five highly specialised therapists who work closely with state agencies such as the police and the youth welfare offices in OWL-Lippe.
The city of Bielefeld and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia support the work, but without donations it is impossible to continue. We are therefore pleased to be able to support this important institution with our donation.
